George Webber (Dudley Moore) is a successful songwriter in Beverly Hills in a stable but troubled relationship with actress girlfriend Samantha (Julie Andrews) who, whilst out driving, sees a beautiful woman, Jenny (Bo Derek) on her way to get married.

His obsession with the beauty (leading to a description by number of a scale (the ’10’ of the title) leads him to even more extreme silliness and errors of judgement and a split with Samantha which takes him off in pursuit of newly-wed Jenny with husband (Sam J. Jones, FLASH GORDON) to Mexico…

Blake Edwards’ defined comedy with the PINK PANTHER films and this comedy drama released at the end of the 1970s is very funny in the first half, but then takes a more serious turn in the second. Good performances all-round (and a very funny post-dental predicament for Moore stands out). Derek’s career was made on this film.
