Val Kilmer replaced Michael Keaton as the Caped Crusader in the third of the modern era BATMANs, which in turn was directed by Joel Schumacher (ST. ELMO’S FIRE) taking over from Tim Burton.

In BATMAN FOREVER, our hero has to deal with not one but two villains, Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) and The Riddler (Jim Carrey), formerly Edward Nygma, a disgruntled employee of Wayne Enterprises who has a plan to use a brain machine to help beam TV signals into the mind themselves. Inevitably, he has lost a few brain cells along the way as he helps Two-Face launch a quest to stop Batman.

Two-Face has another foe in his midst, Dick Grayson (Chris O’Donnell) who loses his circus acrobat family in an accident when Two-Face uses the circus he is visiting with to place a bomb in the arena to lure Batman out. Meanwhile, Dr. Chase Meridian (Nicole Kidman) meets with Bruce Wayne to discuss his own traumatic past from losing his parents as a child in Gotham.

The battle for Gotham begins….

More colourful and vibrant than BATMAN or BATMAN RETURNS, BATMAN FOREVER utilises the style of the original TV series and fuses it with the darker tones to create a vibrant combination that will please both purists and film-goers alike.
