Noir, Terrorist thriller

A film that came and went, but became more potent and real after 9/11 because of its’ subject matter, ARLINGTON ROAD gave Jeff Bridges, Tim Robbins and Joan Cusack three of their best all time performances.

Bridges plays a university professor who has a particular interest in recent world events, who discovers a kid wounded along the street. He soon discovers the kid is the son of a couple (Robbins and Cusack) who become neighbours and new found friends. However when Bridges’ character begins to suspect something else, the bonds become a little more fragmented….

Chilling and effective – and in the context of the world today, a very plausible – thriller that has one of the most downbeat and shocking endings of all time (you will flinch!)
