The Beastie Boys were – and to some degree still are – one of the powerhouse bands of their age, but taste is everything and if you are not into them, you might want to skip this documentary.
But….
I would advise you to stick around and watch this amazing, entertaining reflection as surviving members Mike Diamond and Adam Horowitz recall their highs, lows and everything in between in front of a live audience thanks to director Spike Jonze’s riveting film, which is more than two people in front of a stage. Diamond and Horowitz also reflect on the legacy of their departed bandmate Adam Yauch, who died too early.
The fun of what it truly means to be a band comes across in this brilliant work.
