Naval Thriller

A crisis involving Russian aggression prompts a submarine crew for the USS Alabama, led by Commander Ramsay (Gene Hackman) with new Executive Officer Hunter (Denzel Washington) to go into projected battle. However, when a half-cocked message with vital orders is cut off, the two go at loggerheads causing a potential mutiny….

Probably one of the late Tony Scott’s best ever films, working again as he did with the producing team of the late Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer (this was his last official producing collaboration with Bruckheimer before his death in 1995)

Notable for some script additions from none other than Quentin Tarantino, CRIMSON TIDE, like THE HUNT FOR RED OCTOBER, bristles with tension and great performances from two lead acting legends at the top of their game, plus a rousing score from composing legend Hans Zimmer (THE LION KING)
