In prison for his shenanigans in FIRST BLOOD, John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) is sprung from jail by Col. Sam Trautmann (Richard Crenna) for a mission in South-East Asia to see if there are any US POWs still in Vietnam.
With the help of a local agent, Co (Julia Nickson) Rambo discovers it and springs one of the prisoners, but at the extraction point, he is betrayed by his rescuers and imprisoned again. However, this is Rambo – and he’s out for revenge…
Beaten to the top spot at the US box-office by BACK TO THE FUTURE in 1985, RAMBO: FIRST BLOOD PART II tapped into the American desire to regain respect for a war that was regarded as a mistake by a lot of civilians. Co-written by Stallone with James Cameron, the film is nonetheless a jaw-dropping action spectacle, with terrific action and some great music by Jerry Goldsmith.
