Shane Black become a superstar scriptwriter after the release of LETHAL WEAPON (1987) and rose to the top of the pile when concocted this action thriller directed by Renny Harlin (DIE HARD 2)

Samantha Caine (Geena Davis) is a seemingly happy housewife with a loving husband and daughter and there’s another Christmas around the corner, but doesn’t understand at the outset what her situation is meant to be.

During a trip home, her car collides with a deer and suffers concussion, but in the process old visions come back into the frame – as well as a brutal convict who almost tries to kill her at home. Before long, a private investigator called Mitch Hennessy (Samuel L. Jackson) is on the doorstep and agrees to help her find her way, leaving the husband and daughter out the way.

It isn’t long before other vicious members of her past are onto her, the most notable being Timothy (Craig Bierko), who is determined to wipe her out for the last time….

This is true suspend-your-disbelief fare, thanks to the brilliance and charisma of Davis and Jackson, who cemented his place as the go-to supporting actor for films like this following his award winning performance in PULP FICTION.

The action is spectacular, the script is fun – and it is a real late-night cinema classic of the 1990s
