WELCOME ONE AND ALL!!!!
Welcome to www.whatmovie.co.uk and it is my pleasure to give you a tour of my love of film.
Since the Spring of 1978 when I, along with millions of my generation born in the 1960s, were thrilled to a low-budget movie called STAR WARS (soon to be known fully as STAR WARS EPISODE IV: A NEW HOPE), the big (and probably even more so, small) screen has provided a real cathartic and safe haven for being able to deal with all manner of life challenges and issues that have come along.
I have been very lucky professionally, as I have also worked in a previous life as a Film Projectionist for a number of years and attended some great film events in London, still the heart of the UK Film Industry, thanks also in part to my establishment as a top-rated Film Writer, contributing articles to the likes of Cinema Jam, Film and TV Now and STARBURST. I have trained both as an Actor with the Actor’s Theatre School and more recently in remote training with the Baron Brown LA Studio, the most prestigious acting institute in the City of Angels.
www.whatmovie.co.uk is an opportunity for you to see a more personal perspective on many of the films that I have seen over the years – and there have been a lot.
The genesis of the project came to light back in 2016 when a friend of mine, Simon Borland, taken in by my genuine passion for the cinema, suggested launching a film review website that we could encompass a lot of that passion and to share with the world.
Acknowledgements must also go to Dan Butler, our IT consultant who was also able to put together the formatting and look of the website you now view.
Happy browsing and happy viewing!!!
