Catapulted back at the end of EVIL DEAD II through a vortex to the time of Medieval, Ash (Bruce Campbell) has but one goal – to return to his own time as a supermarket customer service assistant, but before that, he has to reverse the series of evil circumstances that have blighted his life in the original two EVIL DEAD films.

Whilst not as intense or gory as the first two horror classics, ARMY OF DARKNESS is to be applauded for a different approach to the material and does retain some of the visual style and energy that made the first two such unforgettable entries in the genre. Raimi was moving into other films by then, among them DARKMAN and the soon-to-be-produced SPIDER-MAN trilogy.
