Peter O’Toole hits the comedy jackpot with his Oscar-nominated performance as veteran screen star Alan Swann, who is past it but never too late for a quick one in the nearest bar.

It’s 1954 and he is the guest star on a top-rated TV show – and comedy writer Benji Stone (Mark Linn-Baker) , fresh-faced on the show, has to keep him sober. Inevitably, his inflated sense of importance makes him a tough cookie out on the lash – and Stone has his hands full.

Very funny comedy, directed by actor-turned-helmsman Richard Benjamin (WESTWORLD (1973), who went on to direct Clint Eastwood and Burt Reynolds in CITY HEAT (1984) and MERMAIDS (1990) with Cher and Winona Ryder.

The fire-extinguisher scene is worth the price of a watch alone – and the pay-off lines from two people on the balcony is worth ten-times that!!!
